 West Elgin CHC has been providing healthcare and addressing the social determinants of health for over 30 years.  As we are rural providing well rounded interdisciplinary care is paramount. Our CHC is located approximately 30 minutes from London Ontario minutes from the north shore of Lake Erie

Choosing Wisely Canada's National Meeting

# Overview

Join us in Toronto at the Globe and Mail Centre on May 25 and 26, 2026, for Choosing Wisely Canada’s National Meeting, in collaboration with the Canadian Medical Association.

Bringing together health professionals, patients, system leaders, and researchers, this two-day event is a unique opportunity to learn about leading Choosing Wisely efforts taking place across the country.

Registration fees: 

  • Two days in-person: $350-450
  • Virtual only: $50 (only plenary sessions are available vitually)

2026 Climate & Health Conference

The 2026 Climate & Health Conference provides a forum for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to share evidence and innovations that advance understanding and action to strengthen health in a changing climate. This full-day event will bring together researchers, students, health professionals, policymakers, government leaders, and system partners to connect, share knowledge, and advance climate and sustainability action for health, health systems, and planetary health.

# Call for submissions

We invite submissions for papers, panels, workshops, and posters that examine climate change alongside related ecological challenges, including biodiversity loss, pollution, land and water degradation, and their implications for planetary health. Submissions may report on rigorous research from diverse medical, social or physical science disciplines, or innovative and impactful solutions in policy and practice across local, national, and global contexts. Sickle Cell Disease Community of Practice: Community Voices in Sickle Cell Disease Care.

This community of practice meeting is hosted by the Ontario Health Sickle Cell Disease Quality Standard Implementation Team

Health care teams and community members who provide care to people with sickle cell disease are invited to join our next Sickle Cell Disease Community of Practice webinar on May 13, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. This session will focus on Community Voices in Sickle Cell Disease Care.

In this session, we will discuss the community advocacy perspectives and highlight practical, actionable insights for clinicians, health care teams, care partners, and people living with sickle cell disease across Ontario. Speakers will include representatives from the Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario (SCAGO) and the Sickle Cell Association of Ontario (SCAO).

Primary care and specialist physicians can receive continuing medical education credits for attending the webinar.
