# About the organization

The West Elgin Community Health Centre has served our rural communities for over 30 years.

We work alongside extraordinary people at the Centre and are very proud to be a part of an alliance of community health centres across the province.

Our team provides primary care, illness prevention, health promotion services, and a range of community programs primarily to the residents of Dutton Dunwich and West Elgin municipalities.

As a Nurse Practitioner at our Centre, in addition to roster autonomy and a favourable work-life balance, we work within   an amazing interdisciplinary team supported by an exceptional volunteer program. We make a difference every day to our clients, in our rural communities, and to each other.

And, as a team, we remain committed to co-creating a meaningful, healthy, inclusive, and compassionate workplace.

# About the position

The Nurse Practitioner will work in our new Dutton satellite location alongside a registered practical nurse. It is an exciting new role expanding the Centre’s primary care services into Dutton-Dunwich.

Our expansion of primary care services is possible through the Interprofessional Primary Care Team with the purpose of attaching clients to primary care. This service enhancement allows us to continue strengthening access to primary care within the communities we serve.

The Nurse Practitioner (RN-EC) promotes an environment that is consistent with the Health Centre’s Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic Directions. TheRN-EC is an essential member of the client-centered health professional team and works within a broader interprofessional team at the Centre to effectively and efficiently serve clients.

The RN-EC provides primary care functions and participates in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and services for individuals, families and the community.

The RN-EC will practice within the scope set out by the Regulated Health Professions Act: Scope of Practice, Controlled Acts Model and by the Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses in the Extended Class Primary Care Nurse Practitioner current guidelines defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
