Launch Webinar for Common QIP Indicator: Number of New Clients

in 2026. the Alliance introduced a new Common QIP Indicator for our sector: "Number of New Clients/Patients." 

This new indicator was chosen by Alliance members to replace "Client Involvement in Decisions about their Care," which Ontario Health discontinued in 2025.Technical specifications were developed in partnership with the Improvers Working Group.

This handout that was shared during the webinar, Thirst-quenching conversation: Evaluation and reporting in health promotion. It draws from the research paper titled Round Peg in a Square Hole (Journal of Public and Non-profit Affairs, Vol 10, No.2, 2024), which explores what can happen when reporting and evaluation overemphasize a funder’s functional requirements - to the detriment of community priorities, organizational values, and professional standards.
