# About the position
Centretown CHC has a casual opportunity for Nurse Practitioner in our Primary Care Program. Join a dynamic group of health care professionals providing a full spectrum of primary health care in a community health centre located in downtown Ottawa. Our interdisciplinary team includes other nurse practitioners, family physicians, registered nurses, medical receptionists, diabetes educators, social workers, community support workers, and other health care professionals.
The Nurse Practitioner provides primary health care services with strong emphasis on disease prevention, health promotion and chronic disease management for clients across the lifespan within a cohesive provider team of other nurse practitioners and family physicians. This position will also be scheduled for some same day access clinics and may be cross trained to provide coverage to different clinics geared towards serving the Centre’s priority populations.
# Qualifications
Essential

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Registration in the Extended Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Minimum two years experience as a Nurse Practitioner, RN (EC) in a community primary care setting, including working with clients throughout the life cycle and across the wellness-to-illness continuum.

Significant expertise in supporting people with complex mental health and addiction issues

Demonstrated ability to apply a harm reduction approach to care

Knowledge of and ability to work effectively with diverse populations applying a health equity, anti-racism and anti-oppression lens.

Ability to work effectively, independently and in a multi-disciplinary team setting

Strong clinical assessment skills
