This International Overdose Awareness Day event is presented by Wellington Guelph Drug Strategy.
The Guelph community will gather for Drug Poisoning Awareness Day to remember those lost to drug poisoning, support people who use substances and advocate for compassionate, evidence-informed responses. The event will include the unveiling of Pathways to Remembering, a permanent memorial honouring people whose lives have been lost or affected by the toxic, unregulated drug supply. The gathering reflects the Wellington Guelph Drug Strategy's Support Not Stigma approach and its commitment to harm reduction, dignity and policy change. A companion event will take place on Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Main Street and King Street in Mount Forest.
