 The West Elgin Community Health Centre has served our rural communities for over 30 years. We work alongside extraordinary people at the Centre and are very proud to be a part of an alliance of community health centres across the province. Our team provides primary care, illness prevention, health promotion services, and a range of community programs primarily to the residents of Dutton Dunwich and West Elgin municipalities.

# About the position 

 Our Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for Centre-wide volunteer services including recruitment, onboarding, engagement, retention, and scheduling of volunteers and high school student placements. A key leadership focus is to ensure that our Centre is providing a meaningful experience for our more than 100 amazing, dedicated volunteers. Activities would include, but not limited to, volunteer educational activities, volunteer appreciation and engagement campaigns. Our volunteers truly make a difference! 

Our Volunteer Coordinator is an ambassador of the Community Health Centre representing the organization within external volunteer service networks, and community outreach/community engagement projects as needed.

# Qualifications

  •  Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field required. 

  • Experience leading and engaging volunteers required.
  • Volunteer coordination formal training preferred.
  • Experience in data entry, record keeping and event planning preferred
  • An understanding of possible challenges of living in a rural community. 
  • Ability to travel to our service areas where public transportation is not available. 
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check required as a condition of employment. 
  • A client service and volunteer program “champion” who aligns with the Vision and Mission of the Centre and models our values of compassion, excellence, collaboration, accountability, respect, and equity.
