# About the position 

 The Stonegate Community Health Centre is seeking a Health Promotion Program Officer.  Acting as a member of an interdisciplinary team you will assist in the design and implementation of a variety of centre programs including virtual program’s.   

This contract position is 35 hours per week; for 8 weeks and is funded by Services Canada.

Reporting:

The Health Promotion Program Support Officer will report to the Director, Health Promotion.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the organizing of services in the Stonegate community.
  • Support program leaders in the delivery of centre programs including family and health promotion programs.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of in person and virtual programs.
  • Assist with program outreach.
  • Assist with the Centre’s park project programming, including assistance with overseeing program implementation.
  • Assist in maintaining and seeking out resources and activities for the general population.
  • Assist with maintaining and uploading programs and resources to centre facebook page, you tube and Instagram.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Make appropriate referrals to other Stonegate CHC (SCHC) programs and provide information about other community programs and services.
  • Participate in the implementation of health education/promotion programs for general population.

# Qualifications

  •  Experience in facilitating community based recreational/social programs for g

  • Experience in program design and implementation of social and recreational activities.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.  A second language and knowledge of cultural groups appropriate to the Stonegate catchment area would be a definite asset.  (Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, Serbian, Croatian, Albanian and Spanish)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge and comfort in design and implementation of virtual programs.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanentresident, or person to whom refugee protection has beenconferred under the Immigration an d Refugee Protection Act for the duration of theemployment. (international students are ineligible)
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment term.

  • Available to work 35 hours per week.

  • Must have the ability to lift and setup/tear down tables and equipment on a daily basis.
