Qualitative Research Associate

The South Riverdale Community Health Centre is a non-profit, multi-service center that provides primary health care, social and community outreach services with an emphasis on health promotion to residents of Riverdale and South East Toronto.

We are currently looking for a student to undertake coding and analysis of transcribed data associated with a qualitative research project within one of our regional programs, Choose Health. Specifically, the student will be in charge of identifying themes using NViVo for the Taylor-Massey-Oakridge Chronic Disease Management Needs in a Neighbourhood Improvement Area research. The role of the Qualitative Research Associate will include, but is not limited to the following:


  • Work with the research team to create codes for analysis 
  • Analyze the data in Nvivo and work with the research team to write report that helps the community service providers learn of chronic disease management needs of the Bengali population living in TMO NIA


  • Completed intermediate level qualitative research course, e.g., FNR320 at Ryerson University
  • Strong organization, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to pay attention to detail
  • Proficiency with computer applications (MS Office)
  • Experience with Nvivo
  • A police clearance letter completed within the past twelve months will be required prior to commencing employment
