Women’s Health in Women’s Hands is a community health centre run for women, by women

Since the early 1990s, Women’s Health in Women’s Hands (WHIWH) Community Health Centre has been putting people and communities first with its focus on issues of health equity, and a clear mandate to serve the unique health and wellbeing needs of women from African, Caribbean, Latin American and South Asian communities.

This feature article by Bee Quammie in Ruby magazine puts the spotlight on what makes WHIWH a trailblazer in women’s health for racialized communities.

“We understand that women are experts in their own health and need to be partners in their healthcare. All of our services are designed with, and not just for, the racialized and cultural communities‎ we serve,” says Notisha Massaquoi, executive director of WHIWH.
